Hello! My name is Mabel Munoz, I have recently graduated from SUNY Oswego with a B.S. in Wellness Management and I am currently working with Future Leaders in Action (FLIA). FLIA’s goal is to provide fellows with resources, tools, and support to successfully implement programs at partnering non-profit youth organizations all over the United States. This summer I have the honor to work with an amazing organization that is very important and special to me, known as the Fiver Children’s Foundation.
Fiver’s mission is to empower young individuals from underserved communities throughout New York City and Central New York to make positive life choices. With a ten-year commitment program, Fiver’s goal is to help children build strong character while learning to make ethical and healthy life choices.
I am super thankful to be able to go back as a fellow to the place I call my second home, as a Fiver alumna myself I have been able to see first-hand how much of an impact this organization has made in my life. Fiver works hard to ensure that its youth are well-rounded individuals that are engaged within their communities and successful in their future endeavors whether that is school, work, and/or life. Fiver has been a constant support in my life from helping me figure out FAFSA to providing me with job opportunities within and outside of the organization. In addition, Fiver has been able to expose me to people from all different backgrounds and has given me the chance to become a better person through character and professional development programs.
If you would like to be a part of the success of the young future leaders at Fiver and help me provide an amazing summer of discovery and learning, please consider donating to the Fiver Children's Foundation Literacy Program. The donations will help supply books and educational resources for the children along with craft and writing materials. We would genuinely love for you to be a part of this journey, any donation is truly appreciated!
